Network Marketing Training Tips

Are You A Solution Provider or a Sales Pitch Expert?

I was recently speaking with a network marketer on the phone. He was not a member of my team, but he called me after finding my website Free Network Marketing Training and tips website for some advice.

He said that he was doing a great job of attracting people to his capture pages and website, but he was not getting any people to sign up with his opportunity.

I asked him, When you call an interested person on the phone, how does the conversation usually go?”

His answer, “Well, I basically give him an overview of the opportunity and why my product is better than the competitors and how our compensation plan is by far the best out there. I handle all objections and go for the close.”

Let’s stop there folks. To make a long story short, I gave him a quick analysis about why nobody was signing on with him.

Guess what? That was exactly what his upline trained him to do! They told him that was the key to success, and gave him a script and objection sheet.

Why was nobody interested in joining him?

It came down to VALUE. His presentation was of no value to the person on the other end of the phone. People are not looking for products or companies to join. They are looking for a solution to a problem. A good example would be; they need more money to pay bills. Or, maybe they want to be able to work from home so they can spend more time with their family. Every single person is looking for a solution.

More importantly, each person has their own unique set of circumstances that may or may not be a fit for your opportunity. How can you ever know this if you just pitch your product?

When you call a prospect about your opportunity, how much time do you spend listening to their problem. Do you ask them why they are looking to start a home business, or do you go right into to your opportunity? Do you create a dialog beyond your opportunity and try to connect on a personal level with the person?

Put yourself in the shoes of the person on the phone with you. Are you offering them a solution or just rattling on about how great your opportunity is? What the person really wants to know is how are you going to help him or her become successful if they get involved.

What value do you bring to the table that creates a perception that you are a leader and the right person?
It is the science of positioning YOURSELF as an expert who can help people achieve what they are looking for.

Now I know you might be thinking, “but I don’t even know how to get what I’m looking for. How could I ever be considered an expert?”

Again, you have to add value to people’s lives.

Telling a person how much money other’s are making, or how great your product is, brings zero value to the table. Hard selling people without even knowing their current situation or problem brings zero value to the table.

Stop pitching your opportunity!

I never talk about my opportunity until I have listened to my potential partners situation and asked questions about their lifestyle. Only then, do I determine if my opportunity is even right for them. There have been many times where it was obvious that the person was not suited for my opportunity and signing them up would only lead to failure.

If you truly want to be successful at network marketing and building a solid team, remember, It is not about how many people you sponsor, it’s about who you sponsor.

How exactly do you bring value to their life? You offer them real solutions to their problem. You present them with a plan and a system geared to help them get started and become successful based on their individual needs and abilities. You send them to resources that will help them learn and increase their value to the people they will come in contact with.

There are numerous ways you can position yourself so that your prospects like you, respect you, and JOIN YOU in your business.

When you work with a MLM Training Team you should be plugged into marketing and mindset knowledge that is easy to learn but also easy to teach.

Here is a hint…there is a fundamental piece to attraction marketing that you HAVE to have in order to be successful.

You have to BRAND yourself…

In my 5 day New Direction Network Marketing Training Boot Camp I talk about branding yourself. If you would like to subscribe just go to www.NewDirectionNetworkMarketing.com and sign up.

If you are serious about enrolling more people into your opportunity, start listening and stop talking. Take a real interest in every person you speak with, and do not be afraid to let people go if it is apparent that your opportunity is not for them. Be honest and up front with people. Do not promise success without telling them the hard work required to be successful. Position yourself as an expert and be a leader. Do these things and you will start to grow your down line with quality people that will enjoy working with you.

Attract Your Own Network Marketing Leads

Invitation Network Marketing

Become the Hunted not the Hunter!

Are you buying leads from third party sources? Are you approaching every living, breathing human being with your opportunity?

If you are doing any of the above things, you are not employing invitation network marketing. What I mean by invitation network marketing is that you are inviting interested prospects into your world through marketing techniques and they are contacting you for additional information.

The Prospect Contacts You!

These are people that found your capture page, website, classified ad, etc.. and are motivated enough to fill out a form, send an email, or pick up the phone and contact you. Do you think these are good prospects?

Do you think these are better qualified leads than cold calling people that have never heard of you or are not even interested in starting a home based business? The answer is obvious, and you must start learning the philosophy behind invitation marketing or you will continue to waste time and money chasing people with no interest in your opportunity.

To be successful in Network Marketing you must have a continuous flow of leads.

If you have no leads, you have no way to grow your down line and eventually you will fail. By inviting people to contact you for more information you are not only creating leads but they are coming from people actively seeking a home based business. These are the people you want to talk to.

Where should you start?

The first thing to do is get at least one capture page and direct people to it. A capture page has one and only one objective. To present enough information about your opportunity to get the reader to fill out the form including their name, email address and phone number which allows you to contact them with additional information.

All of your marketing should point people to your capture page. Every classified ad, flier, website and business card need to point there, so you can gather information for the follow up.

If you are truly serious about attracting people to you than you must be prepared to invest a couple of dollars into learning how to do it properly.

Below are 2 sources that have helped me immensely and changed my entire approach to Network Marketing.

Common Network Marketing MLM Lies

Let’s clear up a few fallacies about Network Marketing before we move into the training.

  1. Online MLM is a “get rich quick” scheme.  It is not.  You will have to invest some time and effort to achieve the highest possible success in this field.  Online MLM will not gain for you some passive income, at least not immediately.  You will have to develop your network and fill it up with dedicated individuals from whose efforts you will earn lower tiered commissions.

  1. Online MLM is a pyramid scheme.  It is not.  Online MLM is a creative kind of direct selling.  Basically, a person is a customer of the MLM program, though unlike other setups, he is given the opportunity to earn because of his purchase.

  1. Online MLM is illegal.  It is not.  If online MLM is illegal, direct selling should likewise be considered as unlawful.  Online MLM, after all, is a form of direct selling by its very nature.

  1. Online MLM is just as unstable as any pyramid scheme.  This is a falsity.  Pyramid schemes fail because they don’t have capital to rely on.  They depend on the money they could derive from the multi-tiered “investors.”  Online MLM is based on real products that are actually sold to consumers.  There is a real economy involved, hence ensuring the strength of the legs that support this kind of system.

  1. Online MLM requires recruiting.  It does not.  The term “recruiting” is quite misleading.  You just have to pre-sell the MLM program’s products to earn some commissions.  Consequently, the people you manage to refer will become members of your down line, and if they decide to pursue the earning opportunities presented by the MLM program itself, you could also earn from their activities.

  1. Online MLM requires steep financial investments.  This is partly true, though the adjective “steep” is quite relative, as well as questionable.  You will have to purchase a package prepared by the MLM program.  But this is a condition precedent to the earning opportunities that you will gain access to.  Consider it as your enrollment fee.  The price of these packages vary, nonetheless, it’s a onetime fee which you are sure to recoup after referring three or more sales.

  1. Online MLM is just a fad.  Multi-level marketing has been practiced by many enterprises since the 60’s.  With the advent of the internet, an online variety is but the logical evolution of this strategy.  Surely, something that has become a popular sales technique for such a long time cannot be considered as a mere fad.

  1. Online MLM programs are scams. Though some fraudulent companies use MLM programs to hide their devious schemes, most MLM programs are legit.
  2. The responsibility to determine credible MLM programs from dishonest ones would lie on the shoulders of the enrollee.  Due diligence is required before committing to any undertaking, after all.

Is A Network Marketing Home Business Right For You?

There are many reasons why people want to start a home business. The main reason many people fail after a short period of time is that they do not take stock in themselves. To be successful you must have certain traits.

I have worked from home for over 13 years and have helped many people get started. I have listed below some of the most important traits you should have when working from home. Go through the list and be honest with yourself. If you lack some of these traits, you must determine what changes in your lifestyle you need to make in order to acquire them.

1. Self Discipline. You are the boss and you do not have someone looking over your shoulder to make sure important tasks are getting done. You must have a daily schedule where things are getting done. There will be times where you will have to lock yourself in your office and get work done.

2. Create A Routine. Working from home allows you to set your own hours. You must develop a daily routine where you have allocated times to get work done. You cannot continuously put things off until tomorrow or you will fail.

3. Willingness to succeed. It will not be easy in the beginning. Are you prepared to keep going even when it gets tough? Too many people quit after several months, not realizing that it takes time to build a business.

4. Desire. You cannot be wishy washy. Either you want to do this or you don’t. If you truly want to do this you must have the desire and drive to make it work. If you are one of those people that quits when the going gets tough you are in trouble.

5. Purpose. To be successful you must have a purpose. What are your goals? What do you want to accomplish? Where do you want to be 1 year from now? Without a clear understanding of this, you are starting out on the road to failure.

6. Continuous Learning. Starting a home business does not require a formal education. You must be willing to educate yourself about the skills you will need to run your business. Most of these tools can be found online if you are willing to do your homework.

7. Enthusiasm. The whole reason you are working from home is to make life more enjoyable. You need to like what you are doing if you expect to recruit others into your business. With all the opportunities out there you should find something that excites you.

How many of the above traits do you have? Are you willing to change your lifestyle to make sure you have them? Starting your own home business is an exciting life change, but you better take it seriously and be prepared to adhere to the traits above or you will not be successful.
